Winner, Winner, Christmas Dinner! // Food and Lifestyle

Friday, 25 December 2015 3 comments

Okay, so the turkey might be a little dry sometimes but you can't deny that Christmas isn't the same without some pigs in blankets and a good Brussell sprout. Up until this year, I'd never had a 'turkey dinner' from anywhere else but my family table, but upon a recent visit to the Trading house, I knew I had to try their attempt - the Christmas menu had arrived, and it would have been rude not to.

Oh Darling! Afternoon tea at the Blythswood Square Hotel *// Lifestyle

Wednesday, 25 November 2015 No comments

I never quite pictured myself an afternoon tea type of girl, I must admit. I always imagined I'd never quite fit in with all the classy ladies sipping tea and eating cake - despite both of which being some of my favourite pass times. But, last week my mother and I decided to bite the bullet and try it out, so we took a visit to the Blythswood square Salon bar for a lovely Sunday afternoon of tea and cake!

Stressful is the only way I could describe the past month or so, between university hand ins and obscene reading lists to starting a new job (say hello to your newest barista!) I haven't seemed to have a minutes peace! Things don't look like they're going to slow down anytime soon, but as winter has rolled in I've managed to grasp things a little better and found a bit of time for myself to enjoy my latest de-stressing products.  Thank god for that huh!

#SilverburnStudents, Topshop and more! // Lifestyle

Wednesday, 14 October 2015 No comments

I’m a student (if you didn’t know) and there’s nothing I love more than a bargain! So when Silverburn invited me to be the official blogger for their #SilverburnStudents night last week, you know what the answer was. Yes.

Student ‘lock in’ kinda nights are new to me. Now in to my FOURTH year of being a student (third in my degree) I’ve seen them before in other shopping centres many a time. But, what made the difference with #SilverburnStudents for me, was not only the very generous discounts (Including 10% off in Urban Decay and MAC) it was the prizes that were up for grabs.

They took me to the Trading House // Lifestyle and Food

Last Thursday, I was invited to The Trading house on St Vincent Street for a bloggers bash -  and I attended.

Last Thursday was also my boyfriend's 20th birthday. So I was mildly apprehensive about going. I didn't want for my boyfriend and I to spend his special day listening to a sales pitch - but we decided to go in the end. When confirming our attendance we were asked what time we wanted picked up, "picked up?!" I asked Andrew rather puzzled - we couldn't have guessed what was ahead if we tried.

A Scran at Bier Halle // Food and Lifestyle

Sunday, 20 September 2015 No comments

I love going out to eat. It's possibly my favourite pass time - can you tell?

Glasgow is bloomin fabulous for food joints, so it's not hard to find something to knaw on. This weekend Andrew and I went to see Route 94 and Duke Dumont, and so it was only right to jump out for something to eat in between.

We headed to Bier Halle - an underrated treasure based on Gordon Street (across from TGi's if you're wondering) just off of Glasgow's famous Buchanan street. I say and underrated treasure because although Bier Halle always seems packed, both inside and out it's exterior doesn't exactly scream hello come here the food is delicious, so much is hidden behind that dark staircase and green awning.

This summer has been a good one. Although I didn’t get up to any really wild adventures I spent it with the people who mean the most – which is all I could ask for.  To mark the end of summer, I thought I’d share a few items i've really enjoyed in the past few months..

Have a Swig* | Lifestyle

Alcohol isn’t cheap these days. Unless you’re stuffed in a corner of a bowling club or some scruffy local, you’re going to be skinned for a whisky and coke. And that’s something, as a student I’m not okay with. Why pay six quid for a single whisky and coke when you can bring your own?

I got my first hip flask a few years ago, given to me by my friend it was a lovely little Urban outfitters number plastered with ‘Fuck my liver.’ across the front. I loved it, and still do to this day but it’s usage is apparent and the poor soul is looking worse for wear, so I was ecstatic when I received my newest addition in the post this week.

I was lucky enough to be sent a gorgeous new hipflask from SWIG. This was such an honour not only do I adore anything that allows me to drink my beloved whisky on the go but also they’re a true British brand who focus on aesthetics and quality – rather than mass sales and mass produced crap. What more could I ask for?

Red Sauce Revolution @ Frankie and Benny's* // Food

It's no secret, I love food. Especially Italian. So it's no surprise that when one of the biggest high street Italian chains Frankie & Benny's contacted me last week, asking me to try their new Red Sauce revolution menu, I said yes.

The rise of Tropical House - An interview with Yevrah // Scottish Creatives

Monday, 10 August 2015 No comments

With names like Kygo springing off of Soundcloud into the mainstream charts, there's no surprise that tropical house is more popular than ever. I caught up with YEVRAH, a producer, creating sounds from the not so ‘tropical’ streets of Glasgow to hear more about his sound and his musical journey.

BAFTA down his briefs - An interview with Iain Hendo / Creative

Tuesday, 28 July 2015 2 comments

I mentioned a few months ago that I was going to start posting more of what I truly love on my blog, and that’s what I totally intend to do starting today. Starting with an interview I did somewhat recently with Scottish filmmaker Iain Henderson. At twenty years old, college graduate Iain Henderson already has a BAFTA under his belt (quite literally, I wish I was joking). So I guess you could say he’s doing ‘nae bad’.

My Current Skin Saviour // Beauty

I'm not like most 'beauty bloggers' I don't really have a set skin routine - I just tend to do what I feel my skin needs when it needs it. But recently, my skin has been playing up - big time.

I can't be alone in this, I'm sure others get the dreaded red lumps that aren't-quite-fully-fledged-spots but god knows what they actually are things - so I thought I'd share what has saved my skin recently and won't break your bank if you're a student like me!

What I'm listening to... JULY // Music

Tuesday, 30 June 2015 No comments

My music taste is abit of a mixed pot. I still hold a lot of love for the heavier stuff which I cherished in my goth years, But it's lightened up over the years and now I tend to be singing (or head bobbing/toe tapping) along to well... pretty much everything. I'm really into feel good summer tracks at the moment so I thought i'd give you a little insight into what I'm listening to.

Change is a comin' // Blog Update

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed. But I've been a little missing in action recently.

My life has got quite hectic; between extracurricular activities, work experience, college projects and film festivals I've been one busy lady and don't get me wrong, I love blogging - but it had to take a backseat.

Since 2015 begun, It's been hectic. From deadlines and projects to trying to maintain a social life and sometimes my sanity, it's been pretty busy. Now January is over I've had a little time to let things calm down, and as my birthday is fast approaching I thought I'd give you a quick overview of what's been going on in my world for the the past month or so. I've decided I'm going to do one of these every few months or so, to keep track of what's been happening this year. Here is a rather boring part one!

January is over and thank goodness for that because frankly, It has been so stressful. February is here and I'm very happy, finally I'm back into a 'somewhat' normal routine and it's only eleven days to my birthday!

I've been so fussy recently and nothing in the shops has been seeming to catch my eye, but I've finally found a few little staple bits which I'm totally wishing for this month.

After having coming down with a severe chest infection and some problems with my blog (I'm talking disappearing posts, failed scheduling and a loss of drafts,) sadly, blogging every day in January didn't get off to a great start... Well it didn't actually start at all.
