What's in my Makeup bag? Face, Highlight and Contour! // Beauty

This took longer than expected due to a glitch with my blog, but I'm finally here with part two of what's in my makeup bag! This post will be all about the foundations, contours and highlighters that I carry with me at all times to ensure a close to perfect complexion.

I have some mild redness which loves to creep up around my cheeks and nose, which I absolutely cannot stand, so I don't leave the house without my concealer for on the go touch ups.

I have been trying the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer in classic beige. I have to say I really like this concealer, probably more than the Collection one. It's got a much nicer consistency and lasts on my skin better - my only niggle is the applicator and packaging which means you need to cut it open to get half the product out - not cool!

For the past few years my go to concealer has been the Collection Lasting perfection concealer in Cool medium. It's a great 'dupe' for the Nars Creamy concealer and is less than half the price at just over £4! It lasts well and gives great coverage, but creases slightly throughout the day and sadly the packaging wears off after one use - although thats not a big deal.

When it comes to foundation I'm so picky. I don't tend to like the usual favourites and I love layering to achieve a full coverage dewy look. I tend to mix it up between a combination of three foundation which I love. It may be OTT taking all three everywhere but it's what i do!

1. Gosh X-ceptional wear has been a staple in my makeup bag for a very long time. It's not to everyones taste and isn't really spoken about in the beauty world, but if you love full coverage it's a hidden gem! It's a gorgeous thick consistency which i personally love, which blends out seamlessly. It's totally build-able and lasts all day. It's one to try! I always wear a thin layer of this buffed into my skin before applying any other foundation. It gives me the extra coverage I need and provides a perfectly silky base

2. MAC Studio Sculpt is another favourite of mine. It's the newest to my collection and the priciest of all three but provides such a glowing dewey finish - I can't resist! The only problem with this foundation is that it takes forever to "dry". Honestly, it makes it a pain to apply every day which is a real pain, So i tend to save this for either days I have more time or special occasions.

3. Last but not least is the L'Oreal True match, I'd say this is the most fool-proof of all three foundations and if you were to buy just one, it would have to be this. It's got a high coverage, lasts well and drys perfectly even and matte. It's so easy to wear and needs little to no touch up's throughout the day. I'd say it's the best you can find in the drugstore.

I apply all three with a combination of  stippling/ buffing into the skin with the Real Techniques expert face brush and finally eliminating any lines or smudges with the the Real Techniques Complexion sponge.

Contouring and highlighting, are my  favourite makeup techniques. I know  I'm not quite Mario Dedivanovic, But I can still take a good bash at sculpting my face!

1. MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Light Plus is my go-to powder in the winter months. It sets my foundation seamlessly and provides that extra little bit of coverage on days that I'm not feeling my best.
2. I love to use Mac Mineralise Skinfinish in Medium for a light contour around my temples, cheeks, jaw, chin and nose. I find this provides a subtle sculpt on days when I don't want to be too defined or a blending base for applying other products on days that I feel like I want it.

3. I always carry my Sleek contour kit, I'm not sure if it's because the great mix of colours are perfect for defining my face and wearing on my eyes, or if it's for that perfectly sized mirror. Hmm. It's holds a great combination of colours - a perfect matte contour tone, a yellow toned highlighter and one of the most gorgeous bronze tones I've ever used.

4. Last but definitely not least, lies this MUA Undress your skin highlighter in iridescent gold. This highlighter has been my favourite since summer last year and never leaves my makeup bag. It's been repurchased countless how many times and since the photos for this post were taken I have repurchased it again because as you can tell I severely hit pan. This highlighter is ultra pigmented and gives a real glimmer to the face and at £3 it is a steal!

I apply all of my powders with either the Real techniques Cheek brush from the Nic's picks collection or the Real techniques Blush brush! They're soft cheap and cheerful and I've reviewed them here!

Do you use any of the same products as I do?
Or is there any I've mentioned you'd love to try? Let me know!
